Installation and use:
The general installation process and sample of use is shown in the video / tutorial.
First download the "Picture Calendar" package, it's a ZIP file that contains the installers for the component, module and plugin. You must unzip this initial ZIP file in order to access each installer separately. To install the component in Joomla!® go to the Joomla!® Administration Menu> Extensions> Install/Uninstall, select "Browse" and look for the components installer downloaded withing the main package. Click the "Upload File & Install" button.
Once installed, you will be able to set up the component. To access the component administration go to Menu > Components and select "Picture Calendar" component. You will see the following options::
Create a new "Picutre Calendar" using "New" button, located on the top bar.
Publish the calendar by selecting Publish to the List or "Publish" button on the top bar.
To add the images and related information, click on "Data Manager" and enter the desired information.
To show the calendar on the website, the Picture Calendar includes three ways; as module, plugin or component.
Publish the Calendar as a component:
Go to Menu and click on "New" button.
Select "Picture Calendar".
Add the menu name and Joomla basic parameters.
IMPORTANT: In the parameters select the calendar you wish to link to the menu and the language in which you wish to display it.
Note: The calendar is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Portuguese and Dutch.
Publish the Calendar as a module:
First install the "Picture Calendar" module. Follow the same steps as with the component installation. If the component is not installed, the module will not be able to work.
Once installed, go to the Module Manager, Menu> Extensions> Module Manager and select "Picture Calendar".
You will need to specify which of the calendars created in the component will be shown, also select the language and the rest of the basic configuration data of Joomla that allows you to select the location of the module, etc.
Finally publish the module and it will be displayed in your site.
Publish the Picture Calendar as a plugin (into an article's contents):
Install the two plugin packages (button plugin and content plugin) in Joomla (usually in Menus>> Extensions>> Install)
Go to the Plugin Manager (usually in Menus >> Extensions) and enable the "Content - Picture Calendar" and "Editor Button - Picture Calendar"
Now go to any article (Content >> Article Manager) and use the button named "Picture Calendar" (located below the editor area) to insert the calendar. You will be asked to select the calendar that you want to insert. That's all, save your article and check it at the front-end.
