Daily Scheduler Calendar

Daily Scheduler Calendar for Joomla!® is a daily agenda-type calendar for websites using Joomla CMS. This new extension is composed of a component and a module configurable from the Joomla administration and can be integrated into your website as a page content or as a module in any location that you decide to designate for it.

This calendar is available both as a module, component and as a plugin for Joomla. You will be able to show the calendar content in full format on any of your website's pages. You can also show the calendar as a module on any assigned location within your website or as a plugin into a content/article.

Features

  • You can book events indicating the start and end time, or just one of them. Supports three types of entries:
    1. Start and end time are specified.
    2. Only start time is specified.
    3. Only the end time is defined.
  • Define tasks that are performed regularly every week, for example: Every Monday at 09:00 hours, every Saturday ay 10:00 PM, etc. Note: Only weekly periodic events are supported, without exception.
  • A public site can be used to show calendar entries in which additional data is shown using Tooltips.
  • Includes an HTML (WYSIWYG) editor, for calendar entries.
  • Supports the two hour format, 12 hours (AM/PM) or 24 hour format.

Includes two types of applications for websites:

  • As module. Inserts a small calendar that uses the minimum space available on your site, where you can show information related to a scheduled activity by using Tooltips. This option is useful if the calendar is placed in a lateral bar or a small area within the central content. Click the link below for an example:

  • As component. Inserts a large calendar that covers all the main page content, where the titles of the activities are shown directly in the date cells, the rest of the information is shown through Tooltips that pop up when the mouse is placed over the titles. Requirements:

Works with Joomla!® 1.5.x, Joomla!® 1.6.x, Joomla!® 1.7.x, Joomla!® 2.5.x and the new Joomla!® 3.0.x.

Installation and Use:

Download the calendar "Daily Scheduler Calendar", then proceed to the installation. To install the component in Joomla!® you will need to access the Joomla!® Administration menu, once there, follow the path Menu> Extensions> Install/Uninstall, select "Browse" and look for the previously downloaded file. Hit the "Upload File & Install" button.

Once the Calendar is installed, you will be able to set up the component. To do so, follow path Menu > Components and select "Daily Scheduler Calendar" component. You will be displayed the following options::

  1. Create a new "Daily Scheduler Calendar" using "New" button, located on the top bar.
  2. Publish the calendar by selecting Publish to the List or "Publish" button on the top bar.
  3. To add information, click on "Data Manager" and enter the desired information.

To show the calendar on the website, Daily Scheduler Calendar offers two options; as module or as component.

Publish the Calendar as a component:

  1. Go to Menu and click on "New" button.
  2. Select "Daily Scheduler Calendar".
  3. Add the menu name and Joomla basic parameters.
  4. IMPORTANT: In the parameters select the calendar you wish to link to the menu and the language in which you wish to display it.

Note: The calendar is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Japanese.

Publish the Calendar as a module:

First download the "Daily Scheduler Calendar" module for Joomla. Follow the same steps as with the component installation. If the component is not installed, the module will not be able to work. Once installed, go to the Module Manager, Menu> Extensions> Module Manager and select "Daily Scheduler Calendar". You will need to specify which of the calendars created in the component will be shown, also select the language and the rest of the basic configuration data of Joomla that allows you to select the location of the module, etc. Finally publish the module and it will be displayed in your site.
